Joia Wood is a multifaceted artist, educator, and creative facilitator who delights in helping people of all ages connect with their inherent musical and creative selves through improvisational sound and movement. Joia has over 30 years of experience working with children and families, and is dedicated to fostering creativity, connection, and learning through music, nature, and the arts. She is a trained Music Together instructor, Tinkergarten outdoor learning instructor, Teaching Artist at both the Front Porch and MIMA Music, and a Restorative Storyteller and Workshop facilitator.


In addition to her work in education and community building, Joia is an accomplished vocalist, musician, dancer, performance artist, and songwriter. Her love of nature inspires all of her creative pursuits. When she's not teaching or performing, Joia enjoys spending time with her daughter and two dogs, exploring the great outdoors.
