Nathan Naughton
Nathan joined the SCAN Board in 2025 after moving to Scottsville with his husband, Dillon, and their three dogs. With a degree in Biology from the University of Mary Washington and experience as a Regulatory Affairs Manager in the consumer goods industry, Nathan brings valuable expertise in biological science, grant writing, and regulatory processes to the team. His background as a biologist deepens his appreciation for nature and conservation, making SCAN’s mission particularly meaningful to him.
Outside of his professional life, Nathan is an avid fly fisherman, and he believes strongly in the importance of preserving natural spaces for recreation and relaxation. Whether it's fishing in a local stream or tending to his homesteading projects—raising poultry, vegetable gardening, canning, and beekeeping—Nathan is passionate about connecting people to nature. He's excited to help SCAN create more opportunities for outdoor activities and recreation as a means toward conservation.
As a new member of the community, Nathan looks forward to applying his project management and regulatory skills to help SCAN thrive and achieve its goals, ensuring that the land continues to serve both the environment and the people who enjoy it
