NATIVE PLANT PRINTING: RELIEF AND STENCIL PRINTMAKING

COURSE DESCRIPTION: Inspired by the flora living on the SCAN Land, we will explore relief and stencil printing techniques to create broadsides and cards with the shapes of native plants. The table-top Book Beetle and trays for gelatin printing will be set up and ready for use.
INSTRUCTOR BIO: Amanda Nelsen practices and teaches art creation, responding to and celebrating our place on this earth and the care we must take to sustain all living beings. She involves others in the creative process and employs the traditions of printmaking and bookbinding in her work, using all sorts of materials to express ideas and inspire change. Amanda is a trained bookbinder practicing in Charlottesville and enjoys dancing, biking, and baking.
