HIVE | A FARMER’S MARKET MURAL

A collaboration with The Discovery School, The Charlottesville Mural Project, and supported by the Virginia Commission of the Fine Arts.

The mural I created in honor of the Scottsville community tells a story about bees. Pigmented paints and the geometry of love create a portrait of human connection, interdependence, and family. I told my truth through the symbiotic relationships of bee to flower, of hive to home, of grandfather to little child, and a pain for what once was. I painted a vision for harmony, a symbol of solidarity and sustenance; a wish for the continued relation between human and nature, individual and community, peace and the past.
